Step 1: Determining your eligibility

Before applying for a Short-Term Student Visa, ensure you meet the eligibility criteria. Typically, this visa is suitable for students aged 16 or above who wish to study in the UK for up to 6 months (or up to 11 months for English language courses).

Step 2: Applying to a school and securing your course offer

To apply for a Short-Term Student Visa, you'll need an official Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) from your chosen institution. Ensure you've met all requirements, including tuition fee payments, to receive your CAS.

Next would be to visit the UK government's visa application website and complete the online form. Upload your documents, provide biometrics data, and pay the application fee. You would need to schedule a biometric appointment at your local visa application center.

Step 4: Confirming your visa decision and getting your BRP

Await a decision on your visa application. Upon approval, you'll receive a vignette sticker in your passport, which allows entry to the UK. Check the dates and conditions on the vignette.

Once in the UK, you must collect your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) from a designated post office within 10 days of arrival.
