Welcome to the registration page for the innovATe 2025 Roadshow hosted by LSBU’s Building Future Communities Research Centre (BFC). This event focuses on strategies and resources to improve the disabled student experience but is relevant to all students and staff working with students in a wide variety of roles. It will take place in central London at London South Bank University on Thursday 1st May 2025.
The event will take place on the Fifth floor of the Keyworth Building, where exhibition rooms and breakout rooms will enable suppliers to demonstrate software and hardware to promote inclusive practice. All the workshops are on one level and all accessible.
These events are suitable for Learning Support Staff, Assessors, Disability Advisors, AT specialists and other professionals working in roles to support FE and HE students, as well as Access to Work practitioners and others involved in employment. It is open to everyone in the UK including students.
We want to ensure everybody gets the most out of the day, so we are inviting anyone new to the DSA, ATW, Universities and Colleges, as well as anyone who wants to brush up their knowledge, to come along at 8.45 am for registration.
Each supplier will have a 25 minute workshop to demonstrate their products.

There will be plenty of refreshment breaks and lunch provided. We hope you all enjoy it. We have also arranged some giveaways for everyone who is in attendance today so don’t miss out!
At the end of the day, there will be a prize-giving presentation for you to win lots of prizes, and all you have to do is get each supplier to stamp your card.
Once you have completed the day, the suppliers will be in touch with you for updates and licences, etc, so when registering, please make sure we have your full details.
Following our prize-giving, The third LSBU Annual Disability Lecture will take place in the evening. The focus will be on research-informed best practices for working with disabled students.
We are also pleased to announce the publication of Universal Design for Learning - A Critical Approach, Edited by Nicola Martin, Mike Wray and Joanna Krupa (Critical Publishing). Written by university staff, including colleagues in Professional Services and students, this book is relevant to everyone with an interest in making university more inclusive for everyone, including disabled students and staff.
Professor Deborah Johnston will update delegates on the latest developments around the Disabled Student Commitment, which will enable some further networking and reflections on the event.
