We have a fantastic opportunity for a guest-focused and sales-driven Commercial Team Leader at SEA LIFE Scarborough who can deliver outstanding first impressions to our guests!
First and foremost, you’ll be working on the front-line in our retail and restaurant/kiosk areas, welcoming and greeting guests, managing queues and guest flow, coordinating large groups, as well as selling experiences, guides and other products from our gift shop.
As the team leader, you’ll be a role model for the wider team, buddying up with new team members and providing ongoing mentoring and training to the team, setting an example of what great sales techniques and customer service are.
You’ll support with the daily running of the department, as well as guest complaints and anything that gets in the way of a smooth operation, finding solutions and getting things back on track. You’ll also help drive the success of the sales strategy in retail and ensure staff are actively upselling products at every opportunity.
This is a full-time, permanent role. You’ll be working any 5 days from 7, including working a regular fair share of weekends and bank holidays as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Loads of experience working in a busy customer-facing environment
- Passionate and able to bring a friendly, confident personality
- Previous Team Leader experience (desirable)
- Strong communication skills
- The ability to drive initiatives, empower and mentor team members to achieve phenomenal results
- The confidence to deal with any day-to-day problems/complaints
