As an Executive Personal Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in helping our Chief Inspectors lead effectively, ensuring they’re supported to focus on improving health and care services across England.
Job description
You’ll be key in helping us deliver our work. In this role, you’ll:
- Provide executive support: Manage diaries, emails, meetings, and travel for the Chief Inspectors, ensuring they’re always prepared and supported.
- Coordinate office operations: Keep things running smoothly by managing office systems, handling correspondence, and supporting team logistics.
- Act as a key liaison: Build strong relationships across CQC and with external partners, representing the Chief Inspectors with professionalism and care.
Person specification
We will be looking for specific skills, knowledge and experience in your application form:
- Experience supporting senior leaders: You’ve worked closely with directors or executives, managing diaries, emails, and meetings with professionalism and discretion.
- Strong organisational skills: You’ve handled multiple tasks at once, prioritised effectively, and kept things on track in a busy environment.
- Clear and confident communication: You’ve written and shared information clearly, including preparing briefings or presentations, and liaised with a range of stakeholders.
Essential Criteria:
- Relevant experience of working to a Board level Director with qualifications that support organisational and secretarial skills.
- Strong administrative and IT Skills (Word, Excel, MS Powerpoint).
- A working knowledge of CQC strategic priorities.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational and time management skills, able to work independently and be proactive.
- Good oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and with different audiences on behalf of the Director.
- Able to present complex information in an easily understood, accessible format, sometimes to tight deadlines.
- Proven experience of effectively managing correspondence and email accounts effectively.
- Experience of managing budgets and of organising events.
- Experience of liaison and coordination of day to day office activities and requests as they arise.
- Personally credible, with a professional approach to gain the trust and confidence of all stakeholders.
- Tenacity and drive, maintaining focus and judgement in complex environments.
- Highly collaborative, with strong partnership-building and interpersonal skills.
- Copes with ambiguity and is comfortable working independently in a fluid environment.
