Manufacturing Diagnostics Product Manager

An exciting opportunity to bring the vision of the Manufacturing Diagnostics Product Field into reality and to lead the Manufacturing Diagnostics business into the future.

As Product Manager you will be responsible to define, deploy and communicate the product vision and strategy for software and hardware products in the fast-paced vehicle manufacturing environment.

You will drive the product roadmap with a sound understanding of market needs and Product Field capabilities, and with a customer-oriented view, you will specify products and features.

You will be responsible to deliver economical and business data, needed for overall product management and manage the product life cycle of assigned products.

Responsibilities

  • Achievement of product-related business targets
  • Ensures that the product business runs (support of e.g. sales, quality, supply chain, product liability, SAS, FAE)
  • Supports definition, deployment and communication of product vision and strategy and derivation of roadmap (aligned with Solution Field vision/roadmap)
  • Definition of product content and prioritisation of the program backlog, e.g.
    • Definition of customer and product requirements (epics, features)
    • requirements validation at the customer as well as eliciting and incorporating feedback
    • Prioritisation of services and product maintenance (if PF-relevant)
    • ensure product quality
  • Supports the definition and approval of project and product content
  • Supports Product Field stakeholder management, e.g.
    • customer and regional interface for assigned products, product/solution representative at customer (via sales)
    • Coordination with other products and solutions (if no solution is available)
    • others (e.g. universities, competitors,..)
  • Supports definition of business models for PF-related products (e.g. license model, upfront financing, non-recurring engineering costs,…)
  • Supports the definition and getting approval for a budget for the product class
  • Manages product life cycle of assigned products (e.g. marketing ramp-up, promotion, phase out)

Education:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Computer Science and Technology, or other relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience within the automotive industry and technology.

Travel required: Travel to customer sites within the UK and abroad is required.

Your profile

  • Advanced domain & business knowledge – Manufacturing and Vehicle Diagnostics
  • Excellent networking, presentation and communication skills (both written and spoken).
  • Strong business background, customer focus and experience working in a business-to-business context.
  • Proven experience in interdisciplinary teamwork and international cooperation.
  • Excellent English language skills.
  • Customer and result-oriented
  • Strong expertise in product, market and business value
  • Strong entrepreneurial mindset
  • Advanced know-how on agile methods, technical and product management expertise
  • Strong expertise in business management (marketing, sales, controlling, cost-benefit calculation)
  • Advanced knowledge of scaling lean and agile, agile methods and mindset (e.g. Kanban, SAFe, Scrum, OKR)
