The Opportunity
As a Maintenance Production Manager, you will oversee, coordinate and lead a maintenance team. Coordinating with contractors and multiple disciplines across the site. Ensure the Team Leads and employees adhere to safety and quality standards, manage a team to ensure all maintenance, proactive and reactive activities are expedited to a high standard. Coach a proactive approach to resolve maintenance issues safely and oversee improvements.
The Caterpillar Building Construction Products' fabrication facility at Stockton manufactures all the major structures for use at the assembly plant at Leicester.
What you will do:
As a Maintenance Production Manager, you are accountable for, but not limited to:
- The safety of the Team, across all shifts, in all areas of manufacturing, is your number one priority and responsibility. Reporting and resolving Safety issues and Near Misses is our top-tier metric.
- Mentor new and existing groups of Team Leaders, Maintenance Technicians, and Apprentices. Managing their shift schedules, progression and development. Ensuring clear coordination between different teams, ensuring their safety and monitoring their performance.
- Provide appropriate guidance and support for all maintenance and site events, including plant shutdowns, reactive and proactive events and incidents.
- Provide leadership support on processes, audits, investigations, procedural actions and communications.

What You Can Demonstrate:
- Planning and Organising: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organise both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.
- People: Lead, motivate, evaluate, and recognise employees. Understanding the skills and experience of the team to highlight gaps /training/development requirements, document and put plans in place to implement.
- Quality Management: Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques and ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organisation.
- Process Improvement: Understanding and challenging the current processes, suggesting solutions, implementing and evaluating results, to achieve an increase in productivity and effectiveness.
What You May Have:
- IOSH certificate – Managing Safely.
- HNC or equivalent in fabrication, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and/or time served apprenticeship in a related engineering discipline.
- Site SHE systems and procedures, including the appreciation/issuing of permits to work, systems and documentation.
- Legislation and best practice within a production environment, eg HASAWA, EAWR, LOLER, PUWER, COSHH, PSSR, etc.
- Producing/maintaining site documentation, records and procedures.
- Previous experience leading multi-disciplined Teams of people across multiple shifts, monitoring various data sets to achieve metrics around Safety, People, Quality, Velocity and Cost.
- Strategic planning experience with an ability to react to changing priorities using limited data to execute the right results safely and with the desired product quality.
- Evaluate production methods and maintain focus, gathering information utilising the team’s input, promoting the continuous improvement of safety, processes and products.

Job Title: Maintenance Production Manager
Salary: £39,900 – £48,000 depending on experience/ SG21 Internally
Shift Allowance: Rotating shift pattern - 20% Mid shift, 27% Nights
