The Role
At Dojo, data is at the heart of our decision-making process and influences how we understand and shape the world. To empower this, we've built a Self-Serve Data Platform that enables teams to manage, access, and process their own data independently. This platform provides the tools necessary for teams to make a significant impact quickly and at scale.
Our Data Platform operates seamlessly across multi-cloud environments, leveraging both AWS and GCP. Built on the latest open-source technologies, it allows us to not only push the boundaries of data engineering and analytics but also contribute back to the open-source community through continuous innovation and solution development.
Our mission is bold: to build a state-of-the-art data platform that empowers teams across the organisation with fully self-serve capabilities. This enables them to easily own, process, and manage their event-driven data pipelines with efficiency and ease.
What you’ll do:
This role will allow you to master the three pillars of every organisation: Software Engineering, Infrastructure, and Data.
- Software Engineering: Develop microservices, libraries, Flink jobs, data pipelines, and Kubernetes controllers.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to define, design, and implement new features within our Data Platform.
- Lead Technological Initiatives: Drive forward market-leading projects, exploring and integrating new technologies into our ecosystem.
- Platform as a Product: Deliver self-serve products with strong SLAs/SLOs to the business, ensuring their scalability and reliability.
- Developer Experience: Focus on optimising the developer experience to simplify platform adoption and onboarding.
- Work with technologies such as Golang, Python, Java, dbt, Airflow, Kafka, Flink, Kubernetes, Terraform, Prometheus, Grafana, and more.
What you’ll bring:
- Programming Proficiency: Experience with Golang, Java, or Python, with hands-on expertise in building scalable systems.
- Collaboration Skills: A proven ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse set of stakeholders, aligning technical solutions with business needs.
- Big Data Technologies: Familiarity with tools such as Kafka, Flink, dbt, and Airflow, with a deep understanding of distributed computing and large-scale data processing systems.
- A plus to have some exposure or experience with Kubernetes, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Microsoft Azure) and streaming ecosystems
Dojo from the get-go
First launch was back in 2009. So, with over 15 years in the payments industry, we’ve got a story to tell.
Dojo is built to soothe customer and consumer pain points across the world for over 140,000 customers.
And today, there are over 1000 of us in multiple locations across the UK, Ireland, Spain, and Italy.
Our mission is to empower businesses to thrive in the experience economy by creating the tools and tech that turn transactions into meaningful relationships.
We do that through sophisticated EPOS payments integrations, fast transactions, hospitality bookings, and a strong consumer restaurant app.
Question: what’s curious, relentless, and customer-obsessed?
If you’re keen to know the answer, you’re a third of the way to meeting our Dojo values.
If the following speaks to you, let’s talk:
- You’re curious. You have a real desire to learn and create.
- You’re relentless. You keep going even when it’s easier not to.
- You’re customer-obsessed. You know how important customers are to what you do.
Dojo Home and away
We believe our best work happens when we collaborate in person. These “together days” foster communication, drive innovation and spark our brightest ideas.
That's why we have an office-first culture. This means working from the office 4+ days per week.
With offices across Europe, we know a thing or two about staying dynamic. Need deep focus? Head to a quiet zone. Big ideas? Collaboration spaces have you covered. Just here for a catch-up? Our social hubs make it easy. Do work that counts in spaces made for you.
