Data Engineer (Tech Lead) We are seeking a Technical Lead Data Engineer with extensive knowledge of modern technologies to join the team. This would ideally suit a Data Engineer with a passion for driving excellence and experience in a platform engineering or data engineering team. Reporting to the Head of Data Operations, the role is 90% hands-on and is a great opportunity to develop the Data Engineering competency
Key Responsibilities
- Mentor and coach a team of Data Engineers - Drive automation and seek opportunities to optimise data resources - Enhance and reinforce Data Engineering patterns and framework - Ensure compliance, security, and governance meet the highest standards - Collaborate across the business to support data visibility - Opportunity to drive forward the data infrastructure and data architecture - Support analytics teams to ensure data is reliable, available and well-maintained - Design and implement solutions that ensure business continuity - Build a data ingestion pipeline
Required skills - Strong experience in Data Engineering within a modern cloud-based architecture - Proven track record of delivering data engineering solutions utilising AWS - Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate business requirements into
technical solutions - Skilled in engineering concepts with experience in resource optimisation and monitoring - Extensive understanding of data warehousing with respect to governance and security - Demonstrable experience of delivering engineering best practice - Strong experience building data pipelines - Strong proficiency in Python and SQL - Experience working with Snowflake, Airflow, DBT or equivalent
