Reporting to Bardon’s Warehouse Operations Director, the Stock and Systems Warehouse Manager will be responsible for managing teams to ensure efficient and smooth product flow through the automated system within the distribution centre. A Stock and Systems Warehouse Manager’s responsibility is to maximise efficiency, optimise productivity, and engage a high-performing team. You’ll have direct reports of Section Leaders and indirect reports of Deputies, Selectors, Warehouse Operations Assistants and Apprentices. Your New Role:
- Management of flow control/control room through a team of flow controllers. Controlling the flow of orders through the automated warehouse from inbound through to dispatch.
- The requirement is to make timely business-critical decisions, provide senior management with updates on how the operation is performing and manage the peaks and troughs in demand to ensure efficient flow through the warehouse.
- Accountable for the optimal running and maintenance of the Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Manage budget expectations within the Stock and Systems remit.
- Ensure the operation exceeds the required levels of stock availability and delivers against agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPI), such as productivity.
- Ensuring teams are maintaining optimum inventory levels and maximum fulfilment of orders.
- Accountable for accurate stock control, stock investigations and stock loss prevention.
- Contribution to optimising operational efficiency for the warehouse layout.
- Drive a high-performance culture, enabling your team to outperform against the plan by swiftly dealing with performance issues.
- Responsible for the training and development of all new and existing employees within their area of responsibility, conducting appraisals and providing leadership, mentoring and support.
- Identification, development, and coordination of Continuous Improvement projects.
- Making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of system upgrades.
- Development, critique and the presentation of proposals and reports with supporting business cases.
- Reporting and communicating status, performance, and stock availability, both in manual and automated areas.
- Leading and maintaining communications between the relevant warehouse and automation teams.
- Performing administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, managing policies, and making decisions about the purchase of materials or services.
- Controls the documentation with regard to the safe use of all manual handling equipment to comply with safety and legal requirements.
- Liaison and coordination with maintenance and cleaning teams to minimise the impact on live operations.
- Responsible for recruitment/staffing levels.
About You:
- Experience and knowledge of Logistics and Supply Chain Management along with systems.
- Experience within a WMS / WCS environment.
- Automated warehouse/similar role management role.
- Technical expertise to manage the quality and accuracy of data
- Computer literate, including strong Office skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams and Outlook
- Able to allocate team resources, provide delivery timelines and manage priorities.
- Ensuring all operational expectations are achieved, and inbound/outbound deliveries are successful.
- Managing order discrepancies/issues.
- Required KPIs are monitored and achieved.
- Confidently completing management tasks such as team structure, 1-2-1’s, employee holiday management, discipline, etc.
- Excellent problem-solving and leadership qualities.
- Previous project, people and stakeholder management experience.
- Experience in stakeholder management and good internal and external networking.
- Warehouse Health and Safety awareness.
- Ability to solve complex problems, participate in continuous improvement, and adapt the ideas of others.
- Adaptability to work in a fast-paced environment and be adaptable to change.
- Planning and organisational skills.
