Job Description:
The role of a Business Development Manager is to drive and support business development activity within our Debt Advisory, Forensics and Restructuring businesses through new business/ lead generation and key account activities. This is a national role that involves working with colleagues across the firm. Key sector focus areas include – Financial Services, Energy & Natural Resources, Pharma & Healthcare, Real Estate & Construction, Regulated Industries, and Manufacturing & Industrials.
A look into the role
- You will support the Partners in the development and implementation of the BD plan(s) for the team, which ultimately ensures we build out existing relationships, develop new relationships and are proactive in identifying and converting opportunities.
- You will attend meetings – both internal and external – and provide support in meeting preparation, research, and completing actions agreed/follow-up commitments post-meeting
- You will conduct research to identify businesses for us to pitch to, including desktop research, utilising the firm’s intelligence and CRM databases, and working with our Strategic Insights team as required.
- You will work collaboratively with the Restructuring Marketing team to help inform and shape our Marketing activity including the development of marketing collateral, media and other activities to raise our profile.
- You will provide reports and analyses to support our business development activities.
- You will support the Partners in monitoring the pipeline and progress with the wider teams.
- You will represent the firm at both internal and external marketing/ networking events to help promote the firm’s services.
- You will ensure all marketing and business development activities are recorded on the firm’s CRM system (InterAction) so accurate management information and sales reports can be produced.
- You will act as an advocate for the use of ‘social selling’ tools and techniques to support the BD activities of the fee-earning community (for example, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Introhive, etc.)

Joining us as a Business Development Manager, some of the criteria you will need are below. It would be great if you had some of the following skills, but don’t worry if you don’t tick every box, we’ll help you develop along the way.
- Experience working in a business development role or a proven track record of working as part of a team to achieve sales targets and drive revenue growth.
- Strong business acumen and creative thinking to help develop new ways of identifying opportunities.
- A good team player. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain colleague and client relationships.
- Strong project management experience – attention to detail and making sure actions are followed up on. We often need to be persistent to win work.
- Experience in professional or financial services is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to manage own time and complete multiple tasks/assignments with potentially competing deadlines
