The Short-Term Support services offer assessments and brief interventions to residents in the Borough of Lambeth aged 18 and over.

Main duties of the job

What we're looking for:

  • A registered Mental Health Nurse, Learning Disability Nurse, Occupational Therapist, or Social Worker.
  • Strong assessment and intervention skills with a focus on recovery.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with service users and their families.
  • A commitment to teamwork and collaboration within the MDT
  • Most of all, someone who is values driven, passionate about Mental Health and keen to make a difference within our community.

A key part of this role will be managing a varied caseload in the Short-Term Support team, ensuring a timely, safe, effective and responsive service delivery in line with the LWN Alliance "three big outcomes" for people living in Lambeth who experience mental distress:

  1. To recover and stay well
  2. To make their own choices
  3. To participate on an equal footing in daily life.

Job Responsibilities

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse/ Occupational Therapist or Social Worker and/or Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse.
  • Mentorship qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience in research-based/reflective practice, e.g. understanding and ability to use supervision to reflect on skills.
  • Significant relevant clinical experience.
  • Evidence of continuing professional Development.
  • Able to provide quality care that is responsive to service users' needs without close supervision.
  • Skills in clinical assessment/baseline mental health assessment.
  • Knowledge of clinical governance and audit.
  • Understanding of Care Coordination.

Essential

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse/ Occupational Therapist or Social Worker and/or Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse
