As a Business Analyst you will support product leaders and development teams in building a deep understanding of customer problems through data driven analysis, translating insights back to the team, organising work to be done, and contributing towards solutions that realise customer and business value. You’ll also bring knowledge of the UK tax and statutory reporting landscape to ensure we are ahead of the game with regulatory changes and emerging needs of accountants.

This is a 12 month fixed term contract to cover parental leave.

What you’ll do

  • Navigate and build networks across Xero to understand how the product fits into Xero's strategy, objectives and future
  • Identify, interpret and document the detailed regulatory and financial compliance needs and calculations to support Xero’s UK Tax solutions, ensuring that these items are added to the backlog
  • Provide technical compliance guidance and support around tax legislation and calculations (such as legislative budget changes and Making Tax Digital), for the product team to ensure they are aware of upcoming changes
  • Translate the customer problem into actionable user stories for the team
  • Support the development and tracking of the product against the product's strategy and the annual and quarterly OKR process
  • Represent Xero Tax in meetings with HMRC/Companies House/Government, as agreed to by the Product Manager

What you’ll bring

  • A background in tax and accounting with a deep understanding of UK statutory reporting and tax legislation 
  • Experience with agile processes in a software development environment
  • Experience in analysing data, providing insight and recommendations
  • Experience in a problem-solving role using critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrated experience as a valued team member working within teams to deliver customer / business outcomes
